Coney Island Lunch Room in Grand Island

Service not the greatest. Waited forever for her to come back & see if we needed something else. We really wanted pie but ended up just paying our bill & leaving because we sat waiting for her to acknowledge us for 20 minutes. Cute vintage diner though!

The food was decent, very plain jane though- nothing exciting. My biggest complaint about this place was the sanitation. I was watching the guy working cook and he wore the same gloves in which he handled the raw meat the ENTIRE time while handling everything else. This is not sanitary and causes cross-contamination on EVERYTHING. I will NOT be coming back- not worth the chance of getting sick.

The epitome of growing up in Grand Island is this mom and pop lunch room. People stop here from all over the country to experience the famous Coney Dog. There is non other like it or compared to it.

Always a go to place. Simple and delicious! Been around since 1933 so it's a huge part of the town's history.

Hot dogs have no flavor and saw the owner eating lunch while his other 2 employees ran the show. Then when he got back from eating his lunch all he did was talk to people and only cooked the hot dogs and hamburgers. While the rest of his staff runs around and does everything else

Super vintage old school diner. Milk shakes are the bomb. Hamburgers are as good as the hot dogs. Check out this adorable diner.

These burgers are delicious. I've been here a few times when I visit. It's a really old burger joint/hot dog place. It's like that hole in the wall place that puts out good food at a good price. I'll be going back to Coney Island the next time I visit and the time after that and so on. It's not very spacious so be prepared to sit in a booth. Not a great place to bring a large group but a great place to get food for a large group.

A blast from the past!! Great Coney's and home made fries in a throwback to the days of the lunch rooms and diners! A must for visitors in downtown Grand Island!!

Never had a bad experience here. It's always a great place for either a quick bite, or a long lunch. It's the very definition of local restaurant.

Great simple place. They keep it simple and to the point. The malts are amazing and HUGE! The more you go the more you feel like family. In the mood for a Hamburger or Coney and don't wanted to waste time. Stop in here.

Probably the best fries I’ve ever had and the cheeseburger, although simple, was so fresh and delicious it was amazing. Friendly people.

Cool little place. The coneys are excellent much better than I expected. The chili is tasteless and isn't remotely chili it's a bean soup of sorts but definitely not chili and completely unseasoned.... the waitresses are friendly.... a must visit place

It's always a great lunch at Coney Island. I've been going there since I was a little girl and now I get to take my children there. George never forgets a face, no matter how long its been he always recognizes me. I've never had a bad experience there. The food is always delicious and the service is always so friendly. I would recommend eating there if you haven't. They still have that "back in the day" decor.

What can I say, we have loved Coney island for years. It's our favorite place to visit when we are in GI. We even had our rehearsal supper here when we got married. It holds so many special memories for us. And the food is always good, cannot beat the Coney dogs with fresh cut fried and a vanilla malt! Looking forward to our kids growing up loving it as much as we do.

Love this place. Something about a quick Coney dog or a burger just does it right. The malts are excellent as well!

If your looking for a authentic experience this place is it. From the original 1933 menue on the wall to the stools and booth style seating you will enjoy it. Three flavors of malts, Coney dogs and fresh cut french fries were excellent. Family ran still to this day. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere very much.

Very sweet gentlemen. The decor was reminds me of the authenic vibe of the famous candy shop called The Parrot in helena, mt. The food was great, we had a great sized bowl of chilli with a side of fries, coney dogs were great, a chocolate malt, and couldn't help but get the cherry pie. Great place to stop alone or with the family. I like that you can have a great experience no matter if it's a quick stop or you have time to spare. I Def suggest to try coney island

We stopped here on our road trip to Lincoln and had the best Coney dogs and milkshakes that I have ever had in my life. The decor was so fun too. I hope to get back k again next summer.

I have been to Coney shops before. This one is great. Cook and waitress both talked to me and made me feel at home. This place is old school. If you like old school places, this is it.

A place that will make you feel like your in the 60s. This is a must go to place for lunch.

Best malts around. This place is classic my dad used to go here when he was a boy.

Was ok..the people were nice. BUT I wanted chili w my fries but was given a tiny bowl of chili sauce that clearly should had been on my dog. Will not go back.
